When we lived in the Lake District we use d to visit Farrer for a nice Lakeland special cup of tea. Since our move to the Isle of Harris 11 years ago, I ask visiting friends to bring us a decent amount with them so that we never run out. I've never got tired of this beautiful blend.

As a tea lover but I am fed up with inconsistency of teabags at this present time. I remembered my sister-in-law Gill recommending Baldrys tea room the next time I was in the lakes should I want a really excellent cup of tea. I was in Grasmere for my birthday last week and it was my mission to try Farrer Lakeland tea at the tea room. I chose the 'special blend' loose tea - it was golden in colour, smooth with no bitter after taste. This was real tea that lived up to its promise (nectar in a fine china cup). It has to date been the best cup of tea I have tasted in years.
