What if my gaskets are leaking & get
stuck?
- If a group handle leaks coffee over the edge, the group gasket
could be wearing. 1st lock a handle in without a basket as this
can push the gasket back up
- check that the right basket is in the
right handle
- if the handles lock in past the middle section the
gaskets are worn
- If you are unable to lock the handles easily,
try with empty handle if this is a new machine. If however this
fault has developed the gaskets could need changing as they
have hardened

Problems and solutions for Grinders |
How do I care for my coffee grinder?
- please always
keep a good stock of coffee on hand
- never allow a grinder to
run without beans
- always turn the grinder on just before dispensing,
but always make sure there is over 1 inch of ground coffee covering
the base section dispensing

What i f my coffee grinder stops
- check if the outside of the casing is hot – overheating?
switch the grinder off at the mains
- feel the adjustment knob (+-)
- Is this hot? Overheating?
- remove the dispensed coffee lid
- check that the coffee has not
collected on the sensor pad
- if it has, gently wipe it away
- ideally the coffee grinder should
be cooled down before switching back on
- if the grinder is still
faulty, empty the ground coffee from the cavity
- switch grinder
on & gently flick the sensor pad to see if there
is a loose connection, or if it kicks back on
- Still faulty?
- blades must be jammed
- turn the grinder off
- make a note of the grinder setting number
- turn the adjustment
knob towards the “=” (i.e.
increase the numbers)
- if the grinder is on 14, add 3
numbers
- turn the grinder back on and see if it grinds
- if it still
doesn’t work, continue towards the “+”
- allow
the grinder to cool down
- if it still does not kick in, CALL

Manager Grinder Checks
A perfectly operating coffee
grinder is essential for producing perfect coffee. Always make
sure your grinder is working correctly.
The following can adversely affect the quality of coffee being
served:
- Are the lids of the hopper head & ground coffee dispenser
on tightly? (unnecessary exposure to oxygen can dry coffee out)
- Is
the sweeper in place? (no sweeper will make the grinder over & under
dispense)
- Is the handle dispensing spring in place? (I.e. does
the grinder handle springs back into place?)
- If not, again
this can cause a great fluctuation in the amount being dispensed
- Is
the Plax glass broken/cracked? (again, oxygen can dry the
coffee out)
- Is the excess tray missing or cracked?
- coffee is precious
- cracked trays can produce plastic splinters
Stop-cock
- it is essential that all managers know where the stop-cock
is situated in case of a major leak
- if it is necessary to turn
the mains water off, always turn the machine off first.
